Brown and Mason Win Health and Safety Award

Managing Director Nick Brown and Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality Director Alex Hadden recently attended the Iberdrola Supplier of the year Global Awards in Madrid.

Through our continued commitment to health and safety on all our projects, Brown & Mason won the Occupational Health and Safety category for our excellent occupational safety record during the ongoing Longannet demolition works.

Longannet is a thermal Power Station at which we’ve so far spent over 200,000 hours removing hazardous materials, dismantling and then demolishing structures. The closure of this coal-fired plant, which used to be the biggest in Europe, came in the context of Iberdrola’s firm commitment to decarbonising the economy.

Alex Hadden commented by saying, ‘’We are humbled and honoured to receive this global award for our health and safety performance, recognising our ongoing commitment to achieving the highest safety standards”.
